What got me into CrossFit? Yoga. Yes, yoga. I had three back surgeries in 1999 and years later was having some back issues, so my doctor told me I needed to strengthen my core. I went to a yoga class and met Stu; my life has never been the same.
The next thing I knew, I was running, jumping, lifting, flipping tires, and whatever else was in the workout that day. I had never touched a barbell and at first said that “I can’t do that.” The word "can’t" no longer exists in my vocabulary. I have never been involved in anything where you get this much encouragement and support. It is the only place you can finish last and everyone in the gym is cheering for you at the end (I know that from experience).
CrossFit has made me a stronger person; not just physically, but mentally. I am way more active and adventurous than I have ever been. Some people say I am not even the same person I used to be. I have had to take a medical leave a couple times but I will always come back. I can’t do some of the things I could do, but all of the workouts are scalable no matter your abilities.
CrossFit is literally for everyone. I have been doing CrossFit since Enapay opened in November of 2015 and can’t imagine my life without it!
